Panicking at the Disco

Rubbish Photo, but this is ME
After an arduous month of exams came one of the best gigs I've been to so far. Yes, it took 30 minutes standing in the cold (not the longest queue ever I'll be the first to admit) but the short wait was definitely worth it. On the 27th Jan my sister and I went to see Panic! at the disco, supported by ME. Although I was extremely dubious at first when hearing ME they are definately a grower and by the time they finnished they has become one of my new favourite bands.
I must say, they are a mix of all the classic awesome bands; The darkness, Panic, Muse, and one could argue a little bit of Queen. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of their extremely unoriginal look, however the music most definitely made up for their 'follow the crowd' fashion sense.

Panic! at the disco
After the, extremely hard to follow support came Panic! And yes, we were all panicking at the disco. I've never seen soo many 14 year old girls being crushed by other 14 year olds in my life. But, once the 'youngens' were flushed out, or crushed, either way, it was an amazing gig. If you've not heard their cover of The Darkness's song, I believe in a thing called love, then I advise you to youtube it, or find it by any means possible as it was truly amazing.

There are only good things that can be said about that gig, and, as a friend, or stranger I recommend you go and see them, there are no excuses.

For now, I must love you and leave you, until next time, much love xx

Christmas time...

I've been home for two weeks now over the Christmas holidays and id never thought id say this, but i probably just should've stayed in Manchester. Nothing like being bailed on by your friends, being ill for new years and generally feeling depressed. Yes, ive had some good times with the family, but other than that its been pretty shitty. HOWEVER i do have many up and coming events to be looking forward to.
In January: Panic! at the disco
In February: Kerrang Relentless Tour
In March: You Me At Six
And im sure ill be telling you all about them, until then... much love.

Fireworks, the blackout, Irish monkeys and 5th ave.

We started off the night at the fireworks and funfair. Never thought one of the scariest moments of my life would be at a funfair, but can you really ever tell whats going to happen in the future?! After some great times on the rides, a hot chocolate, purely to disguise the cider, some amazing fireworks, a hot dog and a quick change of clothes it was time for the blackout!
Got there just as We are the ocean came on and it seemed as if the whole place was just there for them, dont get me wrong, there an awesome band, but they were most definitely not the highlight of the night. When the blackout came on it was crazy. They are soo good live, and even them talking amongst themselves seemed to be extremely entertaining. Im not sure what else to say about it really, other than it was really good, oh and i was extremely impressed with a guy who lasted the whole gig with his hat coat and scarf still on, impressive stuff!
After another quick change and pre drink we headed out for cocktails and a night out. Overall i think its bee a pretty good weekend, and can most definitely recommend going to see the blackout, even if it was my 3rd or 4th time of seeing them, they seem to get better every time!

Forever The Sickest Kids.

I am now at Manchester uni and absolutely loving it. I can litterally go out whenever I feel the urge, and every band that i've ever loved are playing about 5 minutes down the road, its the most ideal thing i've ever experienced.
the awesome mike stand
Last friday, 7th Oct, my sister, my friend and I went to the Manchester academy to see FTSK. To start with it was a bit of a fail, firstly with my sister missing her train from home and having to wait an hour at the station for the next train. Secondly with Jess missing her train due to an over running lecture, loads of traffic, and a massive queue to pick up her tickets. However all was not lost, and we managed to get there for the second and third supports. Had the gig continued as the supports had started the night it would have been a horrendous disaster! It was one of the smallest gigs ive ever been to and yet the room was only a third full of people with 3, extremely high guys 'moshing' in the middle. Personally i would have described it more as running around randomly flailing their arms around. Luckily FTSK came on and it all turned around, ive seen them a few times before but not once have they even been half as good as they were this time. Johnathan is funny now! i never thought that would ever happen, but im not complaining! he had one of the coolest mike stands ever and was following in the footsteps of Adam from TBS with a few mike tricks here and there, of course no one can ever be quite as good as Adam, but he had a good try!
I can safely say it was one of the best gigs ive been to in a while, the first of im sure many during my 4 years here!
Josie and I are going to see The Blackout in november, ill tell you how it was. Oh and also, i have plumb hair, and im loving it :)
much love x

Last Exam, Lovely holiday, and Latitude

The Main Stage at Merry Tom
Its been a while, and in that time so many things have happened. I finally finished my exams and went on holiday with a load of friends to Spain, can't really remember much of that, its seems so long ago, and yet its only been 3 weeks. I've also been to a few festivals. Merry Tom Folk festival, which, although only a small festival in Pitsford, was pretty good! It was more the atmosphere that was the best part of it actually, I think the amount people were drinking may have had something to do with that, but the music was surprisingly good as well. Never did I think i'd be dancing along to a folk band named 'Mad Dog McRea' and yet i found myself singing along when they played The Bear Necessities. But who doesn't love that song?

For now that is all... but ill talk about latitude when im not soo tired x

A week of goodbyes, A lifetime of hellos.

Good day to you all.
Alphabeat - 2008
In the past week I have found a new love for, what I call, 'old' music, in the past week I have also had my first A level of the year, and in the next week, I will be having my last day of school. In this past week I have found that I didn't know some of my friends as well as I thought that I did. The guys who Id assumed weren't the emotional type have been crying down the phone to me, and my girl friends, who I had down for being big on the tears in their last few weeks of school have shown no sign of sadness. To me 'old' music isn't old at all, but all those tracks that people used to play in the back of the bus on the way to a year 8 school trip, the ones that when being played from someones phone, just audible over the din of screaming children, there would always be someone to shout 'TUUNNEEEE' at the top of their lungs. This would then progress into a group of tuneless 13 year olds shouting random words to what they believed to be the correct tune. These songs, to me, will always be timeless classics. To anyone sane, they will just be the crap that kids use to play when they thought they were cool.
Kelly Clarkson - Since you've been gone.
Not only was this number one in 2005, but also is still one of my favorite songs. Don't judge me! Its not the song itself, but the memories that I associate with it.
I have had enough of my nostalgia for now and will briefly explain why I named this post what I named it. I think the 'week of goodbyes' is pretty much already explained. But the lifetime of hellos, thats just how I feel at the moment. Like life has so many opportunities, whats the point about being sad because of leaving a school that you didn't want to be at in the first place, or leaving friends for a short time. In the end things always change and there will be other friends to laugh and sing with, and other places to be educated at, other 'teachers' to hate and other opportunities that you should have taken but never did.
For now it may mean a goodbye, but soon the hellos will arrive.

Last.fm = god

A flower from my sunny garden...
i like it, so wanted to share it.
I thought it would be a good idea to put some real information into this blog. but first, a little about what I've been up to recently as what you do in your life, always affects the things you end up listening to. Easter holidays are now over so I'm back to school again, only 21 school days left until i finish school for ever! Revision has been top on my list of priority's, however i did have time to take part in a swimathon for the local district Samaritans, 100 lengths aint half bad! The weather has been amazing, and due to this amazing weather i have been listening to some great, summery tunes, and having a multitude of BBQs and walks. There is one little piece of advice i would now like to impart on you. Never leave an easter egg in the sun for any amount of time or it WILL melt. I must add that the sound track to my life at the moment has not been provided by my ipod, but a new website...
My sisters melted egg... lol!
In an attempt to try and find a way in which i could play music directly from this here blog i think i have found what has very quickly become one of, second only to facebook of course, my favorite websites. Its called Last.fm. Not only does it download the information about what music you listen to from your media players such as itunes and windows media player, which i find extremely cleaver in its self, but it also creates an online library, which you can listen to from anywhere. It recommends music to you that it thinks you may like, going by any other artists that you listen to most. There is also the radio part of it, which can be downloaded, or used online. You can type in an artist, today i have chosen two door cinema club, and it comes up with the radio of that artist. This means that it constantly plays music by the artist you have chosen and other artists and sounds that are like that, its constantly streamed offline and is honestly one of the best things currently in my life... and my life isn't too bad is awesome!! The link for this amazing site is right ...here... please enjoy this, as enjoy it is all you can really do.
Until next time, i fare thee well x
