Last.fm = god

A flower from my sunny garden...
i like it, so wanted to share it.
I thought it would be a good idea to put some real information into this blog. but first, a little about what I've been up to recently as what you do in your life, always affects the things you end up listening to. Easter holidays are now over so I'm back to school again, only 21 school days left until i finish school for ever! Revision has been top on my list of priority's, however i did have time to take part in a swimathon for the local district Samaritans, 100 lengths aint half bad! The weather has been amazing, and due to this amazing weather i have been listening to some great, summery tunes, and having a multitude of BBQs and walks. There is one little piece of advice i would now like to impart on you. Never leave an easter egg in the sun for any amount of time or it WILL melt. I must add that the sound track to my life at the moment has not been provided by my ipod, but a new website...
My sisters melted egg... lol!
In an attempt to try and find a way in which i could play music directly from this here blog i think i have found what has very quickly become one of, second only to facebook of course, my favorite websites. Its called Last.fm. Not only does it download the information about what music you listen to from your media players such as itunes and windows media player, which i find extremely cleaver in its self, but it also creates an online library, which you can listen to from anywhere. It recommends music to you that it thinks you may like, going by any other artists that you listen to most. There is also the radio part of it, which can be downloaded, or used online. You can type in an artist, today i have chosen two door cinema club, and it comes up with the radio of that artist. This means that it constantly plays music by the artist you have chosen and other artists and sounds that are like that, its constantly streamed offline and is honestly one of the best things currently in my life... and my life isn't too bad is awesome!! The link for this amazing site is right ...here... please enjoy this, as enjoy it is all you can really do.
Until next time, i fare thee well x

First post... How exciting...

So, I guess i'm now a blogger! This is exciting news.
My plan is to use this wonderful space to force my opinions of gigs that i've been to recently on anyone who has time to read them. It will most probably end up being about almost anything and probably everything, as for a few more months i'm stuck at home revising for my A2 exams, and then off to uni. So, for now, i will just have to talk about gigs that i've been to previously. But first.
About myself...
I'm the one on the left :)
Madeline Smart, 18 years old, 6th form, A2s... studying... Physics, Maths and Design Technology. I guess that is probably all you need to know about me at the moment. I'm planning on going to the University of Sheffield next year to study Civil Engineering. 'Not really got much to do with music?' you might ask yourself, so why write a blog about music? you may be thinking. Music may not be my life ambition, and i may not be able to play any instrument to a high standard, but 'gigging' (as i like to call it) is one of my favorite things to do. So i thought i would share that with a bunch of delightful strangers.
I have done a list (i think it should be at the bottom of the page...) of the top 25 listened to songs on my ipod at the moment and i have got to say i'm quite ashamed of myself for it. You Me At Six and Adele take up a good 22 out of the 25 songs. This, to me, is just not good enough. I take pride in the amount of variation of music i listen to so to find that you me at six was dominating that list has rendered my heart broken. To fix this i have decided to set myself an ipod shuffle challenge. I will be listening to the 4754 songs on shuffle, without the ability to change the song or pick another. So far i have got up to song 446, and this has taken me just under a week. Some of the song combinations that have come up are amazing. And some of the songs that id forgotten that i had have been brought to the front of the 'i love this song' list that is currently in my head. So far this challenge has brought nothing but good outcomes, but i wonder if my will power will be able to overcome the future urge just to pick a song that has been going over and over in my head ... that time will soon come, and i fear the consequences. I'll be sure to keep you updated on that one.

Thanks for reading, i hope i didn't bore you too much :) xx
